A feel good read to make you laugh-out-loud - Misfits Farm
Ding Dong the bitch is dead

The inner bitch, that is

It’s been almost two years since Amy Cole walked through the door of her therapist’s office and now she’s ready to emerge as the sane, zen-like woman she has always wanted to be. Unfortunately for Amy, life has the nasty habit of not playing along.

There’s no time for a quiet life with a business to run, family life to balance and a newly-single best friend to keep an eye on.From getting embroiled in a feud with a maniacal diet guru, making sure Elle isn’t murdered by strangers from the internet and dealing with the mother-in-law from hell, mayhem always seems to find a way into Amy’s life.

Elle De Bruyn is on the cusp of finalising her divorce and is ready to jump, head-first, into dating once again. She soon learns that finding love in the 21st century is a tricky business. She lives in hope that somewhere in between the liars, cheats and unsolicited dick pics there’s still a chance for one more great love affair.

With life in a constant state of chaos, it doesn’t take long for Amy to realise that therapy was the easy part and now it’s time for the real work to begin.

Is sanity really all it’s cracked up to be?

I have been highly anticipating Amy Cole is Zen as F*ck ever since I read the first book in the series Amy Cole Has Lost Her mind. I fell in love with both Amy and Elle right from the start. If you love spontaneous bouts of laughter even while in the presence of strangers (even if they look at you funny) then you will love this book!

Amy and Elle are back and better than ever bringing you more laughs and more hijinks as they navigate their way through life, love, disasters, family and friendship.

Amy is finally able to face the world again after almost two years of therapy. Amy 2.0 is with it, in control and full of Zen or at least that’s what she thinks at first. Zen is a lot harder than it looks though with children, a husband, a brand new job, and a best friend who is determined to find the new love of her life. Join Amy as she braves the waters of the mother from hell, a diet guru who gives new meaning to fat shaming, while making sure her best friend Elle does not meet Buffalo Bill through internet dating apps. What could possibly go wrong?

I can not express just how much I am in love with this series. I have never laughed so hard in my life. Amy and Elle are the friends you always wished you had. They are both fun, funny and spontaneous. They love life even with its ups and downs and can make the best out of any situation. Elizabeth McGivern really knows how to balance the laughter with the realness of family life, friendships, and even their sanity. Amy and Elle show how life is sometimes complicated, sometimes messy, but through it all they find the humor in their day to day lives.

McGivern shows the realities of life and there are some tough scenes to read through and I think this is where the story really stands out because it is authentic. Amy and Elle both suffer through tragedy and loss in different ways, but through it all they still find balance and the courage to move on often in comedic scenes that stay true to their characters while dealing with sensitive subject matter.

One of my favorite scenes in this story has to do with the word “Pineapple” and when you read it you will be hysterically laughing. McGivern has a wicked sense of humor and the pineapple scenes are just priceless. There are so many great things I can say about this book and I loved every single minute of reading it. The only downside, for me, was when the book ended. I need more of Amy and Elle! Luckily, there will be a third book to this series coming out in 2019! I will be stalking Elizabeth McGivern’s page highly anticipating the release of the next book. Ugh! I can’t wait!

Amy Cole is Zen as F*ck is a charming and hilarious story full of witty dialogue sprinkled with humor creating the perfect blend for a truly amazing read. This is definitely one of my favorite books of the year! If you have not started this series yet, you are truly missing out because Elizabeth McGivern is a fantastic and gifted writer. I am a HUGE fan! Five stars all the way!
