Star Jumpers: The Lion Roars
Four Teens: One Quest: A World of Magic and Adventure
It was no ordinary zipwire flight. Thrust into the magical world of Hadrixia, flame-haired Zara Bulmer and her three teenage companions must thwart the Dark Ruler of Hadrixia in their quest to locate the Stone of Exerith. The fate of the Empire depends on their success…and safe return to Star Camp.
On their journey, the foursome must tangle with vicious creatures like the horn-headed Warnoks and the venomous web-tailed Tarquids. Will they succumb to the persuasive chants of the fire-loving Brozigs or be mauled to death by the tree-swinging Harnts?
The friends join forces with Hadrixian teenager, Quinn, and encounter the kindness of Semyon, an aged wizard potionmaker.
Will Zara fulfil the destiny bestowed upon her before the sun sets on the last day of July? Or will the Portwall to the Outside remain sealed, imprisoning the four intrepid teenagers in Hadrixia, consigning them to a future of chaos, destruction, or even death?
There’s only one way to find out:
Welcome to the perilous world of Hadrixia…

Four teens from Star Camp are put together and taken on a magical journey to retrieve the Stone of Exerith. Each teen was picked by Hadraxia’s former emperor Max and his son Rufus. Zara is the lead for the group, which does not sit too well with the other members, but they all come to realize they have been chosen due to their strengths. Their journey is not an easy one and they can not deviate away from the plan. There time in Hadraxia is limited if they wish to return to Star Camp. They need to find the Stone of Exerith while keeping a low profile and staying under the radar of the new emperor, Zophicus.
Zophicus is an evil emperor who has been plundering the land of Hadraxia and creating an army of warriors determined to take over the control of Hadraxia’s southern realms. It will also be a matter of time before Zophicus finds a way to breach the Shield of Azergrix which will lead him to the outside world where he can easily take over and destroy the land and its people.
Will Zara and her comrades manage to find the Stone of Exerith in time?
Star Jumper: The Lion Roars is the first book in the Star Jumpers Series and it gets off to a really good start. The story is action packed and even though there are only 130 pages or so to this story, I feel like a lot had been accomplished. I really felt myself getting into the story regardless of the fact that it seems to target a younger audience.
I found the story to be a bit confusing in the beginning because there is a lot of information thrown at you, but do not fret, once you get all the different names and start seeing them more often, the story just clicks into place.
I really felt that the teens really came into their own as the story gets more involved. I think they each grew up in their own ways and managed to finally work as a team after the initial animosity that Zara was chosen to lead the group. They all had their strengths and weaknesses which made the teens really connect and bond throughout their journey.
If you are a fan of the fantasy genre with wonderful characters and great world building then Star Jumpers should not be missed. Zoe Baxter really created a fantasy world where you can feel yourself escape and interact with the characters and creatures of Hadraxia. This is a great start to the series and I can’t wait to read more.
